Some of us are extremely sensitive to the emotions of others. Some of us are empaths which can be a blessing and a curse.
Whether you are an empath or a very sensitive person here is a simple visualization that you can utilize in just about any situation. I recommend practicing this to the point where you can get the whole picture in a couple of seconds as soon as you close your eyes.
Think about a coat of armour. You can look at pics online as well for inspiration. Now customize it so it is your armour. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Is it heavy or light? Does it have a smell? Metallic maybe? See yourself in it. Hold on to this picture for as long as possible, remembering to feel all of the descriptions we just discussed. Now visualize a strong white light surging through the armour creating a layer of protection. Feel that light protecting you. Know that you are protected. See yourself protected. You can visualize negativity bouncing off the armour leaving you untouched. Practice, practice, practice!
Once you are adept with the visualization, you can put up this “shield” any time, any place. You can do it in the morning before you leave for work and reinforce it on your lunch break. You can also do this on the spot as needed, to protect against the negative emotions of others.
You now have the choice of when to be open and when to be protected.
